Security
How secure is Rivogram?
Very secure. All data is stored heavily encrypted. Secret Chats use end-to-end encryption, which means only you and your recipient can read the messages.
How do you encrypt data?
We use layers of encryption for Cloud Chats, and end-to-end encryption for Secret Chats. All encryption keys are stored in multiple data centers for maximum security.
How does 2-Step Verification work?
2-Step Verification adds an extra layer of security to your account. You can set it up in Privacy Settings.
Secret Chats
What is a secret chat?
Secret Chats use end-to-end encryption. Messages in secret chats are only accessible on the devices of the sender and receiver. They are not stored on our servers.
How do I start a secret chat?
Select 'New Secret Chat' from the menu in the Rivogram app, then choose a contact.
Using the self-destruct timer
You can set a self-destruct timer in any Secret Chat. Messages will be deleted for both parties after the specified time passes.
Why not make all chats 'secret'?
Regular Cloud Chats have the benefit of being accessible from all your devices. We offer both options so you can choose what works best for each conversation.
